Awards Extravaganza!

A camera pans over a vast audience of super-heroes and super-villains from all walks of live, orchestral fanfare playing all the while, before the camera and the stage lights come to focus on the main forum, and its red velvety curtains.

An announcer's voice booms: "Live, from Bob Kane Memorial Stadium - designed, drawn, and funded by Bill Finger - it's the Second and a Half Annual Ambush Bug Presents Awards Extravaganza!"

The curtains part, giving way to the night's emcee - Ambush Bug, dressed to the nines in a sharp tuxedo. A sharp, orange tuxedo.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the Ambush Bug Awards - the Schwabbies, as they are popularly known. This is our second and a half annual ceremony, and I hope we can continue the fine tradition of dignity and aplomb that we have maintained all these years. But - what's this?"

Ambush Bug looks towards the rafters, where there is suddenly a glow.

"Who wouldn't be? I may be crazy, but I have taste."

Smirking, Nygma steps up to the microphone.

"Our first nominee for 'Best Battlecry' is a man who needs no introduction. The Man of Steel."

A clip plays on the screen behind him - Superman, just about to fly into shatter a group of Darkseid's legions.

'Great Rao!'

"I can tell. Green and purple - very stylish."

He accepts the audience's laughter, waiting till it dies to continue.

"Our second nominee is Black Lightning, of the Outsiders."

A clip begins to play - Black Lightning leading the rest of the Outsiders in a charging attack against Baron Bedlam's forces.

'I'm gonna beat you till you look like Metamorpho, Mother-(bleep)!'

Nygma hmphs, and continues.

"Third up, we have Metamorpho, Man of the Elements."

Another clip begins to play - it appears to be the same battle as Black Lightning's clips, perhaps a second or two later.

"Our fourth nominee is Arthur Curry, AKA Aquaman, King of Atlantis."

Yet another clip, this one featuring Aquaman facing off against some generic military thugs.

'By the Gods of Atlantis.. By which I mean the Gods of the first Atlantis, not the second Atlantis of Lori Lemaris's people.. You Will Fall!'

The Riddler chuckles.

"Our final nominee is Green Lantern Hal Jordan, with this old chestnut.."

The final clip begins to play, as Hal Jordan battles Sinestro in the skies of an alien world.

'Papa Smurf said knock you out!'

He takes up the envelope, studying it for a moment before ripping it up and reading the card.

"Our winner for Best Battlecry is Hal Jordan."

Jordan uses his ring to fly up to the podium, taking the statue in hand.

"It's a good thing we don't have a weakness against yellow anymore, or I wouldn't be able to fly this thing home. Heh. Well, thank you all for the award.. I don't really remember saying that, but .. I'll take the applause I can get."

He waves to the crowd, smiling, and flies off.
