jla_watchtower was founded after a small group of players decided that they'd had so much fun RPing with each other in the
lunatic_cafe, they should form their own RPG community. A summary of their earliest adventures is provided here for your perusal.
Barbara Gordon/Oracle (
oracle_watching) was held captive by a corrupt senator, finally freed with the help of the Black Canary (aka Dinah Lance,
_black_canary_), the Huntress (Helena Bertinelli,
sexy_huntress), Catwoman, Gypsy, Katana, and Lady Shiva Wu-san. Upon returning to Gotham, she and Dick Grayson
began talking to each other again, which eventually led to
Dick proposing marriage.
Dick Grayson/Nightwing (
_nightwing_) had been struggling in Bludhaven, dealing with the death of his surrogate grandfather and his neighbors thanks to the vengeful Blockbuster.
Having finally recorded a confession from Roland Desmond, he sought to publicize Desmond's crime, simultaneously struggling with the guilt he felt over the innocent bystanders he believes he has failed.
Tim Drake/Robin (
_robin_) had been stripped of his Boy Wonder title,
following his father's discovery of his late-night activities. He was trying to reconcile with his father even as he strove to maintain his connection with the rest of the Bat-family.
Cassandra Cain/Batgirl (
cassandracain) wondered if the solitude of the Bat-cave is really for her, especially given
her nightmares featuring her father. The dreams were sufficiently disturbing as
to affect her patrolling.
Cassie Sandsmark/Wonder Girl (
_wondergirl_) struggled with difficulties in finding a school, plus her fears that she will not live up to Donna Troy's legacy. She continued to train with the Titans.
Koriand'r/Starfire (
starfire_kory) was living at the Titans Tower in San Francisco, training a younger generation of superheroes. Having resigned herself to solitude in her personal life,
she was very astonished to meet and fall in love with
a most extraordinary man.
And for those who are wondering what
Hugo Weaving (
hugo_clone) is doing here ... you can't be any more surprised than he is.
Waking up one morning in a strange place, he shortly thereafter
met Babs, who explained to him that he'd woken up in the
lunatic_cafe. His understandable skepticism was blown away when he met a Buffy Summers (one of many frequenting the Cafe), who demonstrated that superpowers weren't confined to comic books. He had scarcely recovered from that revelation
when he was told that he was not merely a clone of Hugo Weaving, but a clone housing the soul of an unmarried Hugo Weaving, from an alternate universe, who had died prematurely, thanks to a whimsical wish made by a fan of his,
lizamanynames. Eventually managing to come to terms with the harsh truth of his existence,
he thanked Liza for her wish, and settled himself to becoming a permanent (so he thought) resident of the Lunatic Cafe. Then one evening, a tall Tamaranian came to thank him for
the help he'd given an injured Nightwing and a worried Oracle ... and now he's living in the Titans Tower, embarking on a new career as a writer, and looking forward to
his own wedding to someone who is not only a superhero, but comes with
a host of friends and family he had thought to be merely fictional.
