Awards Extravaganza!

A camera pans over a vast audience of super-heroes and super-villains from all walks of live, orchestral fanfare playing all the while, before the camera and the stage lights come to focus on the main forum, and its red velvety curtains.

An announcer's voice booms: "Live, from Bob Kane Memorial Stadium - designed, drawn, and funded by Bill Finger - it's the Second and a Half Annual Ambush Bug Presents Awards Extravaganza!"

The curtains part, giving way to the night's emcee - Ambush Bug, dressed to the nines in a sharp tuxedo. A sharp, orange tuxedo.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the Ambush Bug Awards - the Schwabbies, as they are popularly known. This is our second and a half annual ceremony, and I hope we can continue the fine tradition of dignity and aplomb that we have maintained all these years. But - what's this?"

Ambush Bug looks towards the rafters, where there is suddenly a glow.

Barry nods, once.

"I don't want to disrupt this awards show, but I'll be sure to catch up with you later."

He steps up to the podium.

"Our first nominee in the category of Best Death - the Watchtower Universe's most famous corpse, the long-dead Black Manta. Strangled to death.."

Barry, here, glances at Zoom.

"..by Aquaman."

Zoom chuckles nervously, clearly unsettled.

"Next up, we have the Electrocutioner, killed by Deathstroke as he was forming the Secret Society, to make an example of those who would not join."

"Our third nominee is Solomon Grundy - one death in particular, though he has had many. Gunned down in the streets of Star City by the police and K.G.Beast."

"That Grundy, he takes a licking, and keeps on ticking.. eventually."

He smiles at Barry, hoping for a laugh, but receives none. He focuses back on the prompter, and continues.

"Fourth, we have the tragic death of young Lena Luthor - so recently crushed to death in the collapse of a section of the Daily Planet, after an intense battle between Superman and Miracleman."

"I can only imagine what Luthor's going to do as a result of that. A lot of people might be making this list next year."

He shakes his head.

"Our final nominee for best death is.. the Electrocutioner, knifed in a riot in Arkham Asylum, just this month. Unlucky fellow to make the list twice."

Zoom is all to happy to take up the envelope with the winner - the sooner he gets away from Allen, the better. In a burst of speed, the envelope is open.

"And our winner, in the category of Best Death.. Lena Luthor!"

No one seems immediately forthcoming to claim the award.

"Naturally, this award is posthumous.. but I'm not going to be the one to deliver it to Lex."
